LITERACY & NUMERACY ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM
OBJECTIVE OF THE PROGRAM
The Literacy Enhancement Program (LEP) and Numeracy Enhancement Program (NEP) focuses on the development of reading, writing, and arithmetic skills in the pre-elementary and basic elementary levels (Grades 1 to 3).
PROGRAM DELIVERY
The LEP and NEP is designed to be a separate subject delivered as an elective to supplement the core subjects of English and Mathematics. It shall also follow the Learning Block System.
The Learning Block System divides the entire subject into five (5) to seven (7) learning blocks per quarter. Each Learning Block focuses on a specific learning competency.
PROGRAM CONTENT
The following is a general outline of competencies covered in the program. The program flow follows the spiral progression approach, which begins from simple to complex concepts and competencies across learning topics.
